Check whether the blanket approval is time-limited or has been extended indefinitely, whether the relevant entities remain covered and which individual assessment steps apply. Citizenship, location and current status affect the route. These checks identify procedural dependencies; they do not establish a guaranteed faster outcome than an individual petition.
Check the approval’s actual terms
Read the blanket approval instead of assuming it expires on a particular cycle. Confirm its present validity, included entities and any changes since approval with counsel. Then map the employee’s evidence and any visa or admission steps to the proposed assignment date.
If a corporate update or an individual qualification question remains unresolved, address it before making travel commitments based on the existence of the blanket alone. Add one further scheduling item that blanket arrangements tend to obscure: someone has to confirm the arrangement's current position, and that person is usually not in the team planning the transfer. Corporate approvals are maintained by a function with its own calendar, its own view of what has changed since approval, and no particular awareness that a transfer is being planned around it.
Ask early, in writing, and get the answer from the person who actually holds the document. Hypothetical example: a stability-study protocol specialist's assignment is planned around a blanket route, and the confirmation that a relevant entity was added after approval — or was not — comes from a corporate function three time zones away that takes four weeks to answer a question nobody had flagged as urgent.
